Our Classroom Behavior Plan

During our first week together we will talk about the rules we follow to work in a safe and happy environment.  Once again our school will be using the program called Disciplining with Love and Logic.  You will find that this program and philosophy of behavior management helps the children to take ownership for mistakes that they make.  They will be thinking about their choices and deciding any consequences that may need to follow.  Each night your child will come home with a behavior card.  Unlike sheets you have seen in the past, all children will be getting letters.  If you see “above the line” letters, those are for behaviors that were of good character.  If your child received “below the line letters” those were behaviors that need to be worked on.  Please take some time each night to discuss your child’s behavior, as we will be working together to mold an “above the line” student.  If you ever have questions about letters that your child has received that are below the line PLEASE ask your child what happened first.

This plan was created to give all children opportunities to experience positive rewards for doing what is expected.  This is NOT a punitive program – it focuses on the positives!
